—LA Portrait Project Brings Together 733 Female Artists:Last Sunday, 733 female artists came together in the courtyard of Hauser Wirth & Schimmel in LA to take a large, group portrait. The project was organized by artist Kim Schoenstadt, who conceived of the project after seeing Hauser Wirth & Schimmel’s innaugral show, “Revolution in the Making: Abstract Sculpture by Women, 1947-2016." “They had this inspiring show of female artists, and I just thought: There are so many more artists who weren’t included," said Schoenstadt. —Katy Siegel Joins Baltimore Museum: Katy Siegel, one of the most important writers and curators in the country, has been named the new senior programming and research curator at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Siegel is currently the chair of Modern American Art at Stony Brook University and a curator at large at the Rose Art Museum. At the BMA, she will join director Christopher Bedford, who previously worked with Siegel when he served as the director of the Rose. [Artforum]

—Craig Peterson Named New Artistic Director of Abrons Arts Center:Craig Peterson, who currently serves as the director of programs and presentation at Gibney Dance, has been appointed the new director of the Abrons Art Center. He will begin in September. Abron's former director, Jay Wegman, announced earlier this summer that he was stepping down from his position to be become the senior director of NYU’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.[NYT]

—A new short film, "The Healing Circles," which tells the story of the recent conservation and reinstallation of Richard Pousette-Dart’s 1973 triptych, "Presence, Healing Circles," will debut at the Whitney on September 29.
